We’re kicking off this panel discussion with a short video featuring E.L. James herself – in conversation with APL Director, Meena Jain! We’ll then move into an animated discussion between Katee, LaQuette, and Adriana about all of the above topics. And, we’ll end with a Q&A with attendees. Hope you can make it!
Katee Robert is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance and romantic suspense. Entertainment Weekly calls her writing “unspeakably hot.” Her books have sold over a million copies. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, children, a cat who thinks he’s a dog, and two Great Danes who think they’re lap dogs.
LaQuette crafts emotionally epic, dramatic tales that are deeply pigmented by reality’s paintbrush. Her novels are filled with a unique mixture of savvy, sarcastic, & brazen characters who are confident in their right to appear on the page.
She is the 2016 Author of the Year Golden Apple Award winner & the 2016 Write Touch Readers Award winner. Writing—her escape from everyday madness— has always been a friend and source of comfort. At the age of sixteen, she read her first romance novel and realized the genre was missing something: people that looked and lived like her. As a result, her characters and settings are always designed to provide positive representations of people of color and various marginalized communities.
Adriana Anders is the award-winning author of Romantic Suspense and Contemporary Romance. Her debut, Under Her Skin, was a Publishers Weekly Best Book of 2017 and double recipient of the HOLT Medallion award. Whiteout was named a Bookpage Best Book of the Year, an Entertainment Weekly Top 10 Romance, and an OprahMag Best Romance of 2020. Her books have received critical acclaim from Booklist, Bustle, USA Today Happy Ever After, Book Riot, Romantic Times, Publishers’ Weekly, and Kirkus, amongst other publications. Today, she resides with her husband and two children on the coast of France, writing the love stories of her heart.
