Have you been curious about Bollywood exercise classes but haven’t had a chance to check them out? Well, here’s your opportunity! We’re pleased to welcome Priya Asthana, Director of Bolly Beatzz, to the Ashland Public Library for a one hour, freestyle “Bollywood Beatzz” class.

We’ll spend the first 10 minutes on Bollywood Cardio, the next 30 on learning a dance routine, and then the last 20 minutes of a dance off battle — it’ll be like “Footloose” with Bollywood style! Hope you can join us!

This program is free and open to the public. It is for adults and older teens. You will need to sign a waiver to participate in the class. The waivers will be available prior to the beginning of the program.

Please register so we can plan the space. Walk-ins may be admitted if space allows. Masks will be required (unless the mask mandated is lifted at that time). Please email us with any questions: ashlandprograms@minlib.net.

About Priya:

I am a Dancer, Choreographer & Performer & dance to me is my passion — the one thing that I love to do and can do anytime.

I am also a firm believer of keeping fit no matter what stage of life you are in and therefore have been actively involved in creating dance workout content — especially during the pandemic year — that is easy to follow, fun and at the same time keeps you fit. I am a trained classical Bharatanatyam dancer and have been dancing Bollywood since I was 10 years old. During my journey I also got an opportunity to learn hip hop, contemporary and jazz as a part of a beautiful dance school in Massachusetts.

Bolly Beatzz is 3 years old now and is a precious pool of talented, aspiring dancers who would like to grow and showcase their talent at various levels around New England & Virginia region. Through Bolly Beatzz, I try to provide support and mentor aspiring dancers who want to grow in this profession and become good dancers and choreographers.

I have been on various stages multiple times as a dancer and performer and I believe its really not about being on stage but about loving what you are doing. So, if you love dancing, join me for my upcoming session at Ashland Library. Looking forward to have a happening fun session with you all!

If you register and sign up for this class and are unable to attend, we request you cancel your reservation at least 4 hours prior to the start of class. This will allow us to offer your seat to someone on the wait list. Multiple violations of this policy can result in restricted access to register for future classes.
