Illustrator’s Biography

I am a full time illustrator for the children’s book market.

After years of working traditionally I now draw and paint on Photoshop in a way designed to produce a traditional watercolor look. I have illustrated many books for both the trade and educational market.

I did take classes at the School of Visual Arts in New York City but I am mostly self taught.

I began my life in art designing greeting cards and painting murals for children’s rooms. I still offer portraits, caricatures and pet portraits to independent clients.

Since 2007 I have worked as a professional illustrator when I signed on to be represented by Wendy Mays and Janice Onken from WendyLynn & Company. Since then I have had the privilege to illustrate many, many wonderful picture books.

My specialty is drawing and painting people and animals. As a kid I was obsessed with drawing faces of celebrities, sports figures, family members and neighbor’s pets.

Now I am paid to do it and sometimes I still cannot believe my luck.
