Illustrator’s Biography

Janis Luedke, a 20 year resident of Natick, has a professional background as an interior designer and has also been a fine artist for many years, working in watercolors, pastels, and acrylic. She sees the discord roiling the country, and the negative effects it may have on not only adults, but children. Between the pandemic, the election, and the social justice protests, there’s been no shortage of issues to divide people this year.

But her antidote is a simple one; an illustrated children’s book with a message of love, peace and healing. The Hearts That Fell Out of the Sky tells the story of the Heart Heads, heart-shaped beings from another planet who visit Earth to shower its inhabitants with love, to help them learn how to “be in their hearts” with compassion for others. Her book is lavishly illustrated with over thirty full color works she created to help tell the story.

You can learn more about Janis on her website.
